Ray Racela, MD, FACS, joined the General Surgery team of First California Physician Partners in the Fall of 2015. He attended the University of Southern California and finished his education at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. He completed an internship at New York Hospital of Queens and then finished his general surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. He also completed a Burn Fellowship at the ISR at Ft. Sam Houston in Texas.

Dr. Racela served in the US Navy for 10 years as a pilot before becoming a surgeon. He then served as chief surgeon at Fort Knox, which included a tour to Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with his surgical skills, he will bring along certification to treat wounds and severe burns. Dr. Racela is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
